After graduating from The University of Sydney with a Physiotherapy degree (First Class Honours and the University Medal), Ciaran gained extensive experience in the management of sports injuries, post-operative and trauma rehabilitation and pre and post natal physiotherapy whilst working at some of Sydney's leading trauma hospitals, rural Emergency departments and private practice locations.
She has undertaken postgraduate certification in Sports Physiotherapy (Levels I & II), Treatment of the hip, pelvis and spine, Dry Needling, Clinical Pilates and Women's Health Physiotherapy. Ciaran has worked closely with both amaeteur and elite athletes in the clinic and on the side of the sports field. She has provided physiotherapy coverage at large scale running events like the City to Surf and Blackmore's Running Festival and was the head physiotherapist on the Steve Waugh Foundation "Captain's Ride". She has also provided physiotherapy coverage for the Sutherland Shire Women's Representative Soccer Teams, Newington Rugby Union, Inner West Roller Derby League and St George Netball Representative Teams Ciaran is passionate about understanding each patient's individual lifestyle and goals, thus seeing them as more than just their injury or pain, and shaping her treatment to help them to return to what they love sooner! Outside the clinic, Ciaran is a keen runner. She started out as a soft sand sprinter and 2km soft sand runner for Wanda Surf Life Saving Club, gaining both State and National medals in these events. Ciaran completed her first marathon this year and is keen to better her time in the next one she completes. |
