After graduating from The University of Sydney with a Physiotherapy degree (First Class Honours and the University Medal), Ciaran gained extensive experience in the management of sports injuries, post-operative and trauma rehabilitation and pre and post-natal physiotherapy whilst working at some of Sydney’s leading trauma hospitals, rural Emergency departments and private practice locations.
She has undertaken postgraduate certification in Sports Physiotherapy (Levels I & II), Treatment of the hip, pelvis and spine, Dry Needling, Clinical Pilates and Women’s Health Physiotherapy.
Ciaran has worked closely with both amateur and elite athletes in the clinic and on the sideline of sports fields. She has provided physiotherapy coverage at large scale running events like the City to Surf and Blackmore’s Running Festival and was the head physiotherapist on the Steve Waugh Foundation “Captain’s Ride”. She has also provided physiotherapy coverage for the Sutherland Shire Women’s Representative Soccer Teams, Newington Rugby Union, Inner West Roller Derby League and St George Netball Representative Teams.
Ciaran also has a passion for helping women during and after their pregnancies to remain active or return to the activity they love! She has been working with mums-to-be and new mums for over a decade, helping them address musculoskeletal pains that arise during pregnancy and to address any musculoskeletal or pelvic floor issues in the post-partum period.
Outside the clinic, Ciaran has a 6-month old son Owen and is currently completing her own post-partum rehabilitation and return to running program! Having previously competed in Surf Life Saving soft sand running events, trail races, half-marathons and a marathon, Ciaran is keen to return to some racing in 2020.
