Emma graduated from Sydney University with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015 and started her career in private practice, treating sporting and active populations.
Emma has worked closely with both amateur and elite athletes in the clinic and on the sideline of sports fields. She has worked as the team physiotherapist for our own Cronulla Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s team and local AFL teams. She has also worked alongside other physiotherapists at GWS giants AFL and the Huskisson triathlon festival.
Emma’s value for movement and physical activity is what drives her passion for Physiotherapy. She understands the frustration that comes from not being able to perform at your physical best, whether that be when running, in the gym or on the sporting field. She knows that when you’re away from what you love it affects you not just physically but also mentally and socially when you’re not as connected with your mates in the gym/team.
Emma’s treatment style uses a combination of hands on treatment along with exercise and movement to get you back sooner! She will assess you as a whole, provide you with expert guidance and advice around what your pain means, what needs to be done to return you to your best and how to continue training without making it worse.
Emma has also completed extra studies in the assessment and management of sports injuries, clinical pilates, the creation of custom rehabilitation and performance improvement programs, treatment of the thoracic cage and ribs and assessment and treatment of shoulder injuries.
Outside of the clinic, Emma enjoys spending her spare time in the gym doing Crossfit, playing golf on the weekends, drinking coffee and supporting her AFL club – Richmond.
